Travel Beauty Essentials

Now I know not everyone likes to make themselves up to travel, myself included, but sometimes you just want to throw on a little bit of makeup before travelling. I mean, you never know who you’ll meet…right? Maybe you’re going somewhere important right after getting off your flight and want to look fresh and made up. Well, when I want to look put together for travel, I only use these few products:

Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer is easily my favorite primer of all time, and although it’s pretty costly, it makes a big difference. For me, it evens out everything on my face and gives a nice smooth surface for me to put the rest of my makeup on.

Hourglass Primer

Smashbox Hydrating Under Eye Primer is perfect for everyday, and especially for travel, since my skin gets pretty dried out on planes. I love the lotion-like consistency of this primer really helps concealer adhere to the under eye area and look smooth and pretty.

Urban Decay Naked Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Light Neutral instead of a foundation. It’s still full coverage, but a smaller package and less heavy feeling. I also use this all over my eyelids to cover up the veins and make the look seem cleaner than it really is.

Naked Concealer

Maybeline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer in the color Radiant to really brighten my under eyes. The pinkish tone counteracts the blue-ish tones under my eyes.

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny to bring some life back to my face. The slight hint of bronzer really does a lot. If you don’t like bronzer, you could use a blush instead, but usually I opt for bronzer.

NYC Bronzer Sunny

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal to highlight the face and inner corners. This, like the bronzer, adds life to the face, and gives dimension. It’s also what gives that dewy natural look that I like.

NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Chocolate to fill in the brows lightly. I simply fill in the sparse areas and don’t overdraw or sharpen them at all for a more natural look.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara to make my lashes pop and add volume and length. I love this mascara for any occasion, and for this look it really helps polish the face.

Burt’s Bees Lip Balm is a must because flying dries my lips out completely. Without this, my lips would literally look like the Sahara desert, so even if I don’t wear makeup I have to bring lip balm.

Burt's Bees Chapstick

Dior Addict Lip Glow is the easiest way to give color to the lips without having to use a mirror, which I almost never have on hand, especially when travelling. I also love the moisture this product brings to my lips while still giving a nice light pink color.
